Game servers: Scaling to the cloud

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hey all,

This came up briefly in the IRC channel, but I thought it was a really
cool series of articles and that I'd share it on the list for anyone who
might be interested in this sort of technology:

http://www.compoundtheory.com/scaling-dedicated-game-servers-with-kubernetes-part-1-containerising-and-deploying/

It's a fairly comprehensive guide to setting up and scaling a
multiplayer game server on the cloud with Docker containers and
Kubernetes. Might be something to consider for anyone doing game
development – all of this tech is also available in Fedora. :) With any
spare time I have, I'm going to try experimenting with some of this…
