Condrestart is supposed to check if the service is running and only restart it in this case. If the init script does not support condrestart, you have two options : - patch it to support it, and send your patch upstream (preferred) - inside the scriptlet, check if heartbeat is running and restart heartbeat only in this case. You could use service heartbeat status to do that.
