Free enough for extras?
Maybe we should kindly ask the authors to change it? Wasn't there a
wiki page that explained the benefits for authors about using GPL or
similar simple and known licenses?

Well, I didn't find that page, but I asked the main author to change
the license to something GPL compatible (Jeffrey is in the loop).

I think you are looking for http://www.dwheeler.com/essays/gpl-compatible.html
