It is never too late. Nothing stops someone from maintaining it again,
and it could then be readded to FE6.

I saw that Brandon Holbrook also volunteered for maintaining mediawiki
and I don't want to just grab it yet. Brandon is it OK with you if I
pick up mediawiki?
