Hi all, 2 questions: 1) Must the description in owners.list exactly match the rpm summary? 2) May the descriotion be changed after the initial adding of a package to owners.list? I'm asking because I would like to change the description of a few libraries I maintain to include the word library (but only in onwers.list, not in the rpms) to stop Chris's comps nag mails from nagging me :)
1) No. If it changes, just what is going to break? Nothing. Therefore it can be different. I think the descriptions are only used in the bugzilla page (AFAIK). 2) Yes. If it changes, just what is going to break? Nothing... etc blah blah Anyway, this e-mail it seems is more to do with Chris' comps email nags than owner list changes. Parsing the owners list for the word library seems like an *extremely* unreliable way to filter out libraries. Perhaps he should look at an rpms group tag, or if there is a devel subpackage for the rpm instead. Anyway, I wouldn't bother changing owner descriptions just to work-around Chris' email nag software. Instead Chris needs to come up with a better filtering algorithm. -- fedora-extras-list mailing list fedora-extras-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-extras-list
