I have no shortage of opinions on the matter, but the TL;DR is that I vehemently agree with this. I'm generally opposed to wikis as documentation for a variety of reasons, but they do have certain appealing traits.

If we use them for anything, it should be a drafting ground for new content. Of course, that means doing most of the markup after the fact, which has its own disadvantages, but it lowers the bar for new contributors to come in.
