Yes, we know.  The problem revolves around there not being an open source search solution that we can use to allow searching (see bug 616876[0]).  We've looked at some solutions before but they never came to being used.  This is a topic we should definitely revisit, though, and I've opened a bug in support of this[1].

Probably being annoying but have you looked at the Apache based solutions ?

This is a third party company offering them. But could be got direct from source.
