Re: Translation updates to docs website

Just to clarify, the Installation Guide and Installation Quick Start Guide are not quite ready for translation. The f18 version of the Installation Guide project on Zanata is currently READONLY as a result.

This is because the size and complexity of the Installation Guide has again caused difficulty with pulling and pushing po and pot files, but this time it is fortunately surmountable.

At the moment, I'm endeavouring to consolidate the Installation Quick Start Guide into the Installation Guide to save on translation labour, especially due to the new material documenting the new UI. This will hopefully be completed shortly and both guides will be available on Zanata for translation, but in the same project.

I'll send a proper announcement to docs-list and trans-list when that's done.

Thanks,

Jack

From what I understand, a few guides are being worked on for this release. The best way to help things along is probably to work on some bugs. You can find docs bugs at http://tinyurl.com/lbrq84 . Hopefully, the guide owners have been diligent in pushing their work to avoid conflicts (hint!)  If you plan to contribute directly, it might be best at this stage to check in with guide owners and submit changes as a patch via bugzilla.

At the risk of telling you something you already know, I'll take the opportunity to remind you of Zanata. The Installation Guide and Installation Quick Start Guide are hosted there, and perhaps others. Large sections of the IG have been overhauled for the new anaconda, so there are sure to be new strings added regularly, at least to the source.

Thanks for all your work with translations,

Pete
