Hello all:
My name is Dayle Parker, and I'm a content author at Red Hat working at
the Brisbane, Australia office. I joined Red Hat back in January of this
year, and I've been working on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Virtualization docs ever since.
Prior to my Red Hat days, my realm revolved around writing and editing
- I was a journalist for various newspapers in both Australia and
Canada (where I hail from originally). I've also been editor of a
university magazine, social media coordinator for a plush toy company,
and web content writer for several web sites, where I also learned some
HTML along the way.
I grew up around computers, playing DOS games (like Ski or Die and
Commander Keen) and learning graphics on early versions of Photoshop and
Illustrator. I encountered Tux occasionally over the years, it wasn't
until I joined Red Hat that I became fully immersed in Linux. There is
still lots to learn, but I plan to test my growing command line know-how
by taking the RHCSA exam this year. I'm quite comfortable writing in
Docbook XML, and familiar with the docs creation process from my months
as a Red Hat writer. I must mention I'm also a stickler for grammar and
spelling, and believe it's very important to publish accurate,
well-written, and readable docs.
To begin my involvement with Fedora Docs, I'll be working with the other
RHEL Virtualization authors to bring these guides into Fedora. I'm also
looking forward to getting involved with other Fedora docs projects and
working with you all.
