The Amateur Radio applications in Fedora 15 get scattered among apparently random categories, making them hard to find and use.
alacarte does exist for Fedora 15, and although you can create categories, they do nothing.
*BUT*, all is not lost: Create a file /usr/share/desktop-directories/AmateurRadio.directory thusly: [Desktop Entry] Name=Amateur Radio Name[ca]=ràdio Amateur Name[cs]=amatérské rádio Name[el]=áñÃŽùÿõÃñÃùÃõÃÃϝÃÃÂŒÃà Name[es]=Radio Amateur Name[fi]=Radioamatööriliitto Name[fr]=Radio-amateur Name[hu]=amatà r Rádió Name[it]=radioamatori Name[sv]=amatörradio /usr/share/desktop-directories/AmateurRadio.directory Icon=applications-electronics Type=Directory(Probably some of the oddball characters won't transfer nicely through email, chances are you don't log in Finnish all that often anyway.)
Next, add the following section to /etc/xdg/menus/applications-gnome.menu <!-- Amateur Radio --> <Menu> <Name>Amateur Radio</Name> <Directory>AmateurRadio.directory</Directory> <Include> <Or> <Category>AmateurRadio</Category> </Or> <Or> <Category>HamRadio</Category> </Or> </Include> </Menu> <!-- End Amateur Radio --> Most of the amateur radio applications will appear in a new, AmateurRadio category (might need to reboot - seems a bit schizophrenic). For those that don't, add the HamRadio category to
the .desktop file. --McD
