I look forward to seeing this - it appears to address precisely the
needs of many users. Two things stand out:

- I really like the fact that you appear to be concentrating on the
supplied graphical tools. A lot of people edit the configuration files
and get into difficulties when they could get the desired result with
the system-config utilities.

- Section 3 could be done as a series of active tests, rather than more
passive statements.

For example, if you say:

"To test that user home directories are working, as per section 2, do X"
you both reinforce the previous sections and ensure that section 3 has
useful content in it's own right.
