Does it support just plain CRYPT?
We are looking to incorporate FDS with specific webapps, some of which require that the passwords in the LDAP directory be CRYPT.

Yes.  See

In addition to the ones in the doc, Fedora DS 1.0.4 supports SSHA256,
384, and 512, and MD5.
