This is the %pre section:

fi
if [ -f $RPM_INSTALL_PREFIX/admin-serv/logs/pid ]; then
 pid=`cat $RPM_INSTALL_PREFIX/admin-serv/logs/pid`
 psval=`ps -ef | egrep $pid`
 if [ "$psval" != "" ]; then
   $RPM_INSTALL_PREFIX/stop-admin
 fi
fi

So, I'm not sure, perhaps your servers are not running, or they are 
reporting some error attempting to stop them.  If they are not running, 
and you don't wan't to or can't start them, try just removing the pid 
files referenced above.
