installer leaves kernel to late in process...

Is there a legit reason that a basic anaconda install would install about 600 out of 900 packages, before installing the actual kernel ?

If something goes wrong during install, and the installer hasn't at least installed the kernel and boot loader, user can be left in the crud. Preferably this would also include rpm and yum to be early installs...

Is this a disk location optimization ?

Would it be better for kernel to be the first thing on the disk {at least to get started - it going to change down the line anyway} ?
