(find out with the -v switch from aplay.) Also, have you touched default.pa or the other config files in any way? > * Rhythmbox locks up hard, sometimes using 100% CPU This is just a followup on the first item. the gst module tries to signal the error condition to gst. Fun thing is, gst locks up when doing this due to a deadlock. Apparently some of the methods of a gst are not allowed to signal any error conditions. I pinged the GST people, but never got a response from them whether this should be fixed in GST or in gst-pulse. I'll try to ping them again. There's a bug on bz.g.o about this. > * Volume Control gives a cryptic error about a connection being lost Is it really that cryptic? It says exactly what happened: the connection to the sound server is lost. > * Skype no longer works, in strange ways (i.e. Sound In fails) Ah, great, closed source software. That's where I especially like to fix bugs in. > * Unless you know (how?!?) that you need a 'pulseaudio -D', you > have to reboot the machine to get working sound I guess that's something one could say about 99% of all bugs. > And all this happens after 1-2h of listening to stuff. This is one bug, not 5. We probably should move further discussion about this back to BZ, and not continue spamming fedroa-devel.
