KDE4 simply autostarts pulseaudio daemon, and uses xine-lib-pulseaudio
plugin (primarily), and alsa->alsa-plugins-pulseaudio for legacy (arts
mostly) access.

So, could you define what "broken on KDE4" means here exactly?
