I disagree. For _Fedora_, that's precisely what this should be about.

So that we can ship a single, free, kernel and ship (or not) the binary
blobs separately as we see fit. Using the non-free firmware should be as
simple as installing the extra package which contains it, without having
to change kernels. The normal Fedora spin would include it; yours would
not.

We don't want local hacks to kernels which aren't even _pretending_ to
be mergeable upstream.
