Don't forget that this is a heavily biased sample though. For example, KDE apps tend to rank terribly low there, for reasons which are mostly obvious (Mugshot is heavily associated with GNOME). There are also other sources of bias. (The immense popularity of gnome-terminal says much about the audience of Mugshot. I doubt you're capturing data from average users there.)

Sure, but the average user probably stays with what's the default, no matter what the default is.
