Not sure if it's related, but I ran into this with
kernel-2.6.23.14-115.fc8.  I kept on losing connection every three
minutes or so with an error in dmesg saying "ProbeResp from current AP
00:14:A5:0E:E9:41 - assume out of range".

I went back to kernel-2.6.23.14-107.fc8 and the systems working like
normal.  I meant to open a bug, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Also, FWIW, "options iwl3945 disable_hw_scan=1" is set in modprobe.conf.
