[1] - comps-f9.xml * recent bugs: - 428212: unable to mount partitions in dolphin (Update) [2] - 378041: unable to mount removable/ntfs (Update) [3] = Summary = o Preparing for Fedora 9 Alpha: - rawhide is now frozen and kde should be ready for Fedora 9 Alpha o Upgrade path to KDE-4.0.0 (experiences from kde-redhat): - kdebase-workspace should be installed automatically during an upgrade (either in @kde-desktop or with Obsoletes: kdebase < 4) - Some upgraders seems to have problems with kdelibs/kdelibs4 -> kdelibs3/kdelibs o Compiz and KWin decorations (Compiz still uses old KWin 3 decorations): - Release Notes for kwin-4.0.0: http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/KWin/4.0-release-notes#Why_not_Compiz.3F - Compiz' kde-window-decorator is using KWin 3 API and libkdecoration will be removed from kdebase3 soon - kde-desktop-effects should either be removed or reworked to also include kwin's desktop effects and compiz (with emerald) o comps-f9.xml: - Packages that are obsolete now: d3lphin, kdeaddons, marble, ksudoku - Missing packages: extragear-plasma, kaider, okteta, kdegames3, kdeaddons-atlantikdesigner o Open discussion: - Kubuntu is workarounding #378041 and #428212 for KDE3 with hacks. - These patches needs to be ported to KDE4.
