Thats just plain bad! I do not know, maybe Peter Jones does, he wrote a patch[1] for vbetool regarding libz.a. Maybe Phil Knirsch or Adam Jackson know more, too. In case it can be changed, I will apply any patch that does change this, but I do not know how to write it.
