I usually need a text editor before I can even connect to the network (edit yum .repo). At least I could find the joe-* packages inside the Packages/ subdirectory. I suppose I could temporarily use nano (the cursor controls are similar enough to joe, emacs, bash, etc., but Joe's other commands are similar to ... and don't laugh ...
