As outlined here:

I would like to declare the xfig maintainer AWOL and take over xfig, does
anyone know a better way then email to contact Than?
I've been trying to get this bug (with known and included fix) fixed for
ages, yet it is still present in F-8 (and rawhide):
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=201992
Notice that this bug was filed on 2006-08-10 and a fix was known on
2006-11-17, after this I've tried to contact Than once more on 2007-08-17
and 2007-11-04, and now a last attempt at 2007-11-14
Adding -fno-strict-aliasing without finding out what is the problem
and really fixing the aliasing violation (or in the rare case this
turns out to be a compiler bug coming up with small self-contained
testcase that proves it) is not fixing a bug, merely working around it.
Agree,
But it beats a crashing app by a large margin, more over the problem is not
specifically the bug not being fixed, it is there being no response at all.

Hans
