Hi,
I installed java plugin via 'yum install java-plugin' and firefox
still complains that plugin is not installed...
I'm running 32bit fedora (I saw previous mails regarding F7 on 64bit).
Just install the java-icedtea-plugin (just look for icedtea) from Fedora
and it will work just fine.
Otherwise, maybe you need to create a link to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
as well?
AFAIK java-plugin is the same as java-icedtea-plugin
look for your self:
# yum search icedtea
java-1.7.0-icedtea-plugin.i586 : IcedTea Web Browser Plugin
java-1.7.0-icedtea-devel.i586 : IcedTea Development Environment
java-1.7.0-icedtea-javadoc.i586 : IcedTea API Documentation
java-1.7.0-icedtea-demo.i586 : IcedTea Demos
java-1.7.0-icedtea-src.i586 : IcedTea Source Bundle
java-1.7.0-icedtea.i586 : IcedTea Runtime Environment
java-1.7.0-icedtea-plugin.i586 : IcedTea Web Browser Plugin
java-1.7.0-icedtea.i586 : IcedTea Runtime Environment
# yum install java-1.7.0-icedtea-plugin
Setting up Install Process
Parsing package install arguments
Package java-1.7.0-icedtea-plugin - 1.7.0.0-0.19.b21.snapshot.fc8.i586
is already installed.
Nothing to do
The trick is to run "mozilla-plugin-config" once as root, this sets up
nspluginwrapper to find the plugin and possibly other plugins too.
We need to document and fix this, this should be done automagically.

Hans
