The page you mentioned above is a great start, but only covers package-naming and versioning policies. In fact, the page above seems more like a guide for repackaging JPackage RPMs so that they compile with gcj (understandable since that's what was important to RedHat/Fedora). It doesn't mention anything regarding 1) Fedora's stance on Java packaging, 2) Fedora's relationship with JPackage, or 3) Fedora's guidelines for Java packaging. I think we'll find that as subsystems grow, Fedora has to have subbranches in its guidelines that people can look to. Even if it means deferring to another organization's rules (ie. perl, python, mono and jpackage).
