qarecord: simple recorder application for alsa and jack
ecasound: command line multitrack player / recorder, very good.
meterbridge: software meterbridge for jack
jaaa/japa: spectrum analysers for jack
tapiir: multi delay line realtime processor
jamin: audio mastering tool (good companion to ardour)
bitmeter: "bit level" diagnostic tool for jack
timemachine: "always on" jack recorder
ams: alsa/jack modular synth
amsynth: software synth
aeolus: synthesized pipe organ
qmidiarp/qmidicontrol/qmidiroute: small midi processing utils
kmidimon: midi monitoring app

and many more, of course....
