[FHS] Directory for icc color profiles

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello!

I've found that bug on http://www.pathname.com/fhs/
(given from man 7 hier )
http://bugs.freestandards.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77

The problem is: most profiles are installed with oyranos (currently in
review ), but oyranos has an optionnal requires (xcalib), which also
bundle icc profiles...

The easy way would be to have xcalib to own icc profile directory
(meant /usr/share/color/icc ) but if not installed, then the dir
wouldn't be own...
Another way would be to have it own by lcms.

But the same problem appears, if ever lcms is getting uninstalled (icc
profiles will be unusefull on the system then), packages that only
bundle icc profiles won't have the directory owns by any package...

So, i'm wondering if that directory could be own by filesystem...?

oyranos have others directories in /usr/share/color
/usr/share/color/cmms contains .xml file for backend with other apps
/usr/share/color/settings/ contains xml profiles setting

Anyway, oyranos is still in an alpha state, so when it will be stable,
that might be desirable to have it with a FC-8-updates (if possible)..
