There's nothing complex about it, and as I mentioned, it's becoming the standard these days to have multiple computers and networked homes. Say what you will, but I doubt configuring network authentication at install-time will go away. First of all, it's already there and it's non-intrusive. Even inexperienced installers aren't stymied by it (though I would agree to a message stating "If you don't know what this is, then don't ignore it"). Second, there are just too many people who use Fedora now who need it. People who actually use Fedora are likely to use that option or wish they did.
