What kind of drugs are you on?  Compiz is probably the only maintained
compositing manager.

This is why we crank the effects knob way down to begin with.

Yes, we do, we're fixing the drivers to not have that problem.  A
composited desktop should use _less_ power once it's done.

That said, no, we're not turning compiz on by default for F8.
