How are these comments to be understood?

The GtkTooltip changes in 2.11.6 also break wxGTK. The changelog and
headers say the old tooltip API is deprecated. wxGTK uses the private
tip_window member which became NULL in gtk 2.11.6. When will this
compatibility patch be dropped from gtk2 again?
