I'm not sure if this really has to do with RPM, but I'll put it out subject to correction: Is there currently any way for the end user to get a summary of what the install scripts of an RPM actually do? For example, is there any way to know that the mysql-server package: * installs the mysql server, all necessary files, and helper applications * installs basic documentation * setups basic configuration * setups mysql server for manual startup * needs to have mysql admin password setup manually Nothing to wordy, but something that a user could choose to view post install (or maybe even pre) so they have a better idea of what's going on. -- Fedora Core 6 and proud -- fedora-devel-list mailing list fedora-devel-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-devel-list
