Thanks everyone for replying. I've reproduced this on two different
x86-64 machines, both F7 up to date, so I opened a bug:

This is caused by an ABI breakage of gc 7.0 in updates-testing, which
needs to be pulled out of there. Bug updated accordingly and reassigned
to Rex Dieter.
