Why do you need sudo, I mean what does it add that a correctly seperated
privilaged user doesn't?

For me, the ability to automatically lose root priv's after a specified period of time when I forget to drop out of root and have walked away from my machine. :) I imagine/hope there are better reasons but for me it is this.
