Jakub posted a recpie some time ago to get everything 686 but without the 
cmov instruction gcc otherwise erroneously issues. IMHO it would be nice
to switch Fedora to using "i686 without cmov" for all the .686 packages
and kernel and get rid of the extra cases if we can
