Nobody is going to look at the first release because it's not good enough, a more tested one will always come later, and then we're in a vicious cycle. It's the Red Hat Linux days all over again where nobody uses a .0, they wait for a .1 or a .2. Same with the kernel and it's development branch. I just don't want to see Fedora go down this road. we get one shot to make a release point, lets do what we can to get there, and move on to the next one. Respins are great, and respins are wonderful if you want to do one for your use, or for a group, or as a contrib item. However a /Fedora/ release from the /Fedora Project/ carries some weight to it and needs to be done as right as possible, and that would mean doing another /release/ of what is in F7 + updates, which would mean another freeze period, another round of QA, public RCs, blocker bugs, etc.. We're not just going to pump something out in a day, and it puts a severe cramp on what we can do for our already short Fedora 8 schedule. And then were do we stick it on the mirrors? 7.1? Do we do an 8.0 then? And an 8.1? wait a year to do 9 so that we can do our 8.X releases? Maybe we could do quarterly respins and push our release cycle out to 18 months, that'll be Enterprisy right?
