Yes, I've confirmed. I burned a second DVD, verified the checksum after
the burn, mounted the disk and made sure I could browse and load from
all disk areas, retried install with new DVD and same errors as
reported. Fedora 7 Installation is stuck because DVD/CDROM drive is not
recognized.

I don't think so. From my experience in #fedora at irc.freenode.net
<http://irc.freenode.net> it seems more of like driver problem with
libata having some problems.
Thanks.

I've been trying to install Fedora 7 today from DVD on a couple
workstations and also in a QEMU Guest on an FC6 machine. The
install
gets stuck everytime when I OK the CDROM installation type
screen. It's
not recognizing the CDROM drives for some reason and just keeps
prompting for driver selection for this install type. Is
there some
parameter that I need to pass in? I've been working on this
for hours
and no luck on either machine or with QEMU.
it seem that your copy DVD isn't good. check your image iso and
your next DVD copy after the burn.
