Really? What are your numbers and how did you come to them? Because
every linux user I know uses *emacs or vi* except for one that uses
nedit.
how about install 'jed' by default (a lightweight emacs clone, about
950k) and make it use /etc/alternatives/emacs ? At least people
dependent on emacs (such as myself) wouldn't be completely helpless on a
system that only has vi.
