Was some bug preventing this feature to work introduced lately? I have an Acer TravelMate 2490 series notebook. Any ideas?

Well, if it's truly a recently introduced kernel bug, you're best trying
to find this upstream. What's more likely tho - are you using the i810
or intel driver for your graphics card?

Probably opening a bug would be a good idea.

Richard.

I use intel driver. I dunno whether it's a kernel bug. I updated kernel, yes, but I also updated other packages. What is strange is that it behaves just like it behaved in Test 4 - before the bug preventing it to work was fixed, however I don't remember in which component the bug was... I'll try the new kernel (3194) if there is any change (and maybe even latest xen kernel might be worth testing with it). Well, and maybe I'll also try install some older kernel with which it worked if it is still in repos/koji...
