If so, I'd like to test it, but the Live CD torrent doesn't have much going
(will take about 20 hours), and while the f7 i386 torrent has much more
participation, it is also looking too slow (might finish by 1800 EDT).
Suggestions?

Give the torrent some time to ramp up. I pulled that same one down at home, starting at maybe 50KB/s, and after maybe 15 minutes, it was trucking along at 900KB/s.
