Hm. Maybe this does not do what I think it does, or I am doing something wrong. Scenario: Log into gnome with compiz disabled, observe interrupts with powertop. Interrupts for the GPU are pretty low. Enable compiz, see interupts soar. Disable compiz again, but the interrupt number decreases just a little.
