The problem is just what term: "Prime" sounded a bit strange the first time I heard it (and not immediately obvious to me as a non-native English speaker, so I guess new users might be confused by it), "Core" is too reminiscent of the Core/Extras repository split (but would otherwise be the best term IMHO) and "default spin" is too technical.
