One of my motherboards doesn't have a DB9 on the rear connector panel, but it does have an internal serial port connector on the board itself, to which you can connect one of those PCI card-slot DB9 thingies. Like this: http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat%5fid=908&sku=28300
