Indeed, but a MTA also provides that. Among the candidates esmtp and
ssmtp may be better suited for mutt, but both come unconfigured for 
local delivery.

For the record here are the packages that provide a sendmail 
compatible CLI:

sendmail-0:8.13.8-4.i386
postfix-2:2.3.6-1.i386
esmtp-0:0.5.1-13.fc6.i386
exim-0:4.63-6.fc7.i386
ssmtp-0:2.61-11.1.fc7.i386
