Maybe translucent would be the better word. I have a theme, that until some recent problems with beryl (off currently) would allow me to see things underneath decorations for none active windows. I liked this. Beyond some simple helps, it was eye candy, yes, but useful. Purely transparent, obviously that would be a problem.
