The GConf2 package needs to be split up.  Near as I can tell these:
>  ORBit2,
> libIDL,
are actual requirements of the GConf2 system.

These:
> atk, fontconfig, freetype, gtk2, 
> libjpeg,
> libpng, libtiff, pango, xorg-x11-Mesa-libGL, or xorg-xll-libs.

are all requirements of what appears to be a diagnostic tool.
If /usr/libexec/gconf-sanity-check-2 was in a subpackage we wouldn't
have any of these dependencies.
