Indeed. I've been doing some work on microcode_ctl lately, having taken it over recently - I'm ok with the idea of splitting the microcode itself out into another package, but that package is not hwdata.

hwdata is noarch though. Including x86 microcode data on all arches would be
a bit crap.

Yep. Though if people (and Intel?) think it's a good idea, I can split it out into another package for ease of updating...any word on whether greater microcode changelog data is forthcoming? :-)
