The very popular file ~/.gnupg/trustdb.gpg is not a gpg key, either. .asc or .sig would be ok, too. The main thing is, that it is a suffix that gpg recognizes so gpg $SHA1SUM.$SUFFIX will generate $SHA1SUM instead of asking the user for a filename. Regards, Till
