I've been wondering why you used the term "intentionally" for a few hours now
and can't figure it out. Do you seriously believe that OSS support is being
removed just to annoy users of proprietary software (and that open source
application that hasn't been updated since 1997) ?

Perhaps I should have said "knowingly", since you would know what you were removing support for, and still removing it.
