It seems more consistent to make the users of binary drivers pay the price
of inconvenience rather than everyone else.  Having all those open source
users having to access an alternate repo just to get their X update doesn't
make much sense.  Since binary-driver users should already understand the
rules of the game, they can do whatever is necessary (like setting an 
exclusion in their yum config to prohibit automatic X updates etc).
