can only find tools like vnc2swf which do not handle audio directly.
Nothing like Macromedia Captivate seems to exist.

Try byzanz for animated GIFs or istanbul for Theora videos, both in FC5. http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/ScreenCasting has more information, such as how to add audio and a link to VMware video conversion instructions.
